Review website removed negative comments

Hey all,

I have had an issue with a retailer refusing to give me a refund (I won't bore with all details as have made previous post on the topic, suffice to say I am getting trading standards involved to get my refund as retailer has broken distance selling regalations ).

I posted some negative feedback on the review centre website regarding my experience. The review was fair, honest, didn't use bad language etc and complied with the policies of the Review centre. To my surprise the post got removed as the retailer complained to the Review Centre about my post.

I am pressing the Review Centre to reinstate my post, but they are being very awkward and simply repeating the same incorrect lines the retailer has given me before. Surely the Review Centre cannot allow retailers to remove negative posts just because they don't want negative feedback?

Surely there is some requirement that review websites are fair and unbiased and don't just remove negative feedback because the retailer doesn't like it? Does anyone know of any regulations that review website must comply with?

Thanks

The owner of the website can have whatever content they see fit on their website. They aren't regulated and don't have to have reviews if they don't want to. Not exactly 'fair' and impartial but that's what the internet's like.

Surely your focus should be on getting a refund?

Why have they refused? Who has possession of the goods? What was the nature of the goods? How did you pay?

Make a formal complaint to your CC company reminding them of their obligations. Threaten to make a complaint to the financial ombudsmen if they are not more forthcoming.

Or ask them to initiate a chargeback, this is different to a s75 claim.

If the tyres are dirty and need replacing the most they should deduct is the cost of this and not withhold a full refund.
