Company shut down but since discovered it is still trading

I worked for a company that had two different trading arms as a department manager. The trading arm/department i worked for was closed down as of midnight 31st July and we were given 1 months notice which we were not required to work. At the time we had a few jobs that needed completing which 2 of my ex colleagues negotiated with the company to complete (fair enough) I knew exactly what they were and these would now be completed.
I have since discovered that the department (my 2 ex colleagues) are now quoting for new work and are telling old/new clients that i have left the company and not saying the department has been shut down so cannot quote for new work.
I know feel that this was more of a sacking and that i have been removed because i was the highest earner in the department and they are going to keep going.
Is there any recourse i can have over this or do i need to live with it?
Can they still trade until August 31st because we were given a months notice?

I have worked there for 15 years under the same ownership.
We have been given 1 months notice so technically we finish August 31st but the meeting we all attended and the letter i later received clearly said the department was closed as of 31st July and if needs be arrangements would be made to complete work already started.0 -
I'd start spreading the rumour that the department has closed. The company's clients will soon desert them.Never Knowingly Understood.
