Got Points..Shall i inform insurance company

Hi guys,
Basically, approx 2-3 months ago i recieved 3 points on my license for speeding. Got flashed by a camera..
At the time I was unaware that you had to tell the insurance company. Recently my son told me that i have to..
I have a yearly premium (paid as a lump sum) with churchil due to expire on the 12/11/2012.
My question is do i need to tell them about my points.
If i do tell them what will happen, will they ask me for more money?
What are the consequences if i don't tell them
Thanks for reading!

Read up in your policy when they require informing
They do have to be told and you need to disclose this to any other insurer you go to for quotes.
Shouldn't affect your premiums too much if you only got 30 -
Thanks for your reply.
I actually can't see anything in both my policy booklet or insurance certificate about declaring points!
Might phone them up and tell them anyway..
Just worried because it has been a few months so they may ask why i didn't tell them at the start..0 -
Somewhere there will be a section on notifying them about changes.0

you don't need to tell them immediately but you do need to tell them before renewal0 -
Thank you!
That was really nice of you to pull that info for me
Much Appreciated x

no problem but double check that your policy says the same thing as insurers sometimes change this.
The one I quoted is the current one, yours is six months old so there might be differences although most insurers seem to want to know about points at renewal time rather than immediately.0
