tax credits not yet processed

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I'll give as much info as possible and hope it makes sense to you all.....

I did my renewal over the phone, beginning of June.
Phoned at the end of June and they said it had not yet been processed and would move my renewal to another department.
I phoned them 2 weeks ago to let them know my husband has a new job and to give them all the details.
My husband was made redundant in March but has now started a new job 1st August.

They have all the details they need to complete my renewal, yet when I phoned today to check on the progress they told me again it has not been processed yet.The woman I spoke to said that she would have to email my renewal to a new dept and had no idea why it had not even been started yet. Thats 8 weeks so far! Has this happened to anyone else? Im recieving provisional payments so Im not concerned about funds just the amount of time its taking.

I asked if there may be a problem and the lady said...no,no problems, just hasnt been done yet.

This is the information they have.

2010-2011 Actual figure £22822
2011-2012 estimated £ 19000 Actual figure £17488
2012-2013 estimate £15000

2 kids
Husband works 45hrs a week
Im not working yet....waiting for my youngest to start fulltime school(next year)

Has anybody else had this happen?

Thanks for your time reading this, hope it makes sense to someone.

I don't know what they say their normal processing time is - but I mailed in my renewal first class post on the 31st July - (had been trying to get through on phone with no luck) and today in my bank account I have the various payments making up the shortfall in payments from last year, as well as the 'random' payment amount that always gets made before the new payment schedule starts. No idea why some people are having it take so long.

if you think you are now getting overpaid, I'd put the money aside if possible so that you're not hit with a surprise of decreased payments down the road, and you have these payments to fall back on.

Thank you for the reply.I had not thought about an over payment.
I am getting the same as last year at the moment £360 per month.

With the drop in wage I didnt consider an overpayment, but will try keeping it to one side now...just incase.

They cant figure out why it was not processed automatically,as it should of been.I'll be phoning again on monday to check on the progress,if any.
