Hi
Starting to get a bit worried now. Was told our mortgage application was sent to the underwriters last Thursday and we would here by today at the latest but still not heard! It's taken nearly 5 weeks to get to this stage and we are buying and selling and I'm worried it could all fall through now! We were told we would receive a text and I assume that's whether it's good news or bad?? Very stressed!!:(

It seems like you are applying tot he lender directly, call the mortgage team and ask for updates explaining the situation and the time you have been waiting for a decision. If it takes longer I think you should start the complain procedure to the lender. There is usually a complaints department where you can call up and give details on the complain.
By the way who is the lender? Nationwide?
Wish you luck.0 -
Yes it is Nationwide! If I haven't heard anything by 4pm then I will phone them again, getting a bit fed up now though. We're already behind as they lost all our paperwork a few weeks ago! I'm sure everything will be fine but you can't help but worry!0

Nationwide is currently going through a lot of delays, you can search this forum and find out. Many people are having issues with the slowness of Nationwide.
Your best bet is to keep at calling them and making sure your application at the right place.0 -
I feel your worry.
I was told last tuesday my valuation was fine and that it has gone to the underwriters.
Just recieved a text message from nationwide I read the first line "We are delighted to inform you" and I had a temporary moment of pure happiness.
Then I read the rest of the message and let out a sigh "we have recieved a satisfactory valuation report and will be in touch as your application progresses"
Have even started praying to the god of underwriters now lol.0 -
That is a really long wait! Is your application complicated in some way?
I applied directly through a branch of Nationwide. This was on a Thursday. The valuation was booked the same day and took place on the next Thursday. On the Friday I received texts and emails to say the valuation was satisfactory and the mortgage had been approved. The paperwork arrived on the Wednesday. We had a simple application though - both full-time employed in stable jobs with no debts, affordability is good and we had 15% own deposit and 5% from the builder. This application was started at the end of July.
Hope it all works out.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Little sparkles, not really complicated, we are porting our existing mortgage, have quite a large deposit from the equity of our present property but we are asking to borrow more so maybe that's why it's taking a while. I will def be on the phone moaning later though if I haven't heard!
Windlepoons, we only knew our valuation was ok because we phoned them, they didn't let us know! So have you still not actually received e mortgage offer??
Harvey, I will be on the phone hassling them shortly!!0 -
No I haven't recieved an offer yet, they told my broker 6 days ago the valuation has been recieved, but I only got the text at 230pm today.
I assume that it is the underwriter ticking a box that sends the confirmation text? everytime i get a text now I hope its an offer.0 -
Well after half hour in a queue waiting to talk to someone, I decided to give up! They're there until 6pm so will try about 5.30.
Good luck Windlepoons, hope you here soon0 -
