UPDATE 26 March 8.47am
The tripod has now gone up to £12.97 + P&P.
What’s the deal?
Amazon is selling a Hama (Star 700) Tripod plus case for bargainous £4.50 + P&P. This normally costs c. £11, which ain’t too bad for a tripod anyway.
How much is delivery?
Unless you spend over £15 to qualify for free delivery, you’ll have to pay £5.01 postage. If you're close to the £15 mark, and need something to tip your order into the free delivery zone, use the Amazon filler tool to find items to make up the difference.
Will it work with my camera?
Hama has confirmed that this is compatible with any camera or video camera, but if you want to double check email enquiries@hama.co.uk
If you spot it cheaper or find another bargain tripod please post below.

Gone up to £12.97 now
but at least that means you get free postage if you add something for £2.03 (like a cheap book) or you could buy this one:
Thrifty Ways For Modern Days
Alternatively this place has the same tripod for £6.99 (£11.35 delivered - still cheaper than amazons £12.97 + delivery):

My email from Martin mentioning this is timed at 03.47 - after competitionscafe's posting. By the way are you a shift worker or an insomniac?0

Over a million people get the email so it takes a while to get sent out I think. If you check here on a Tuesday you can read the newsletter online before it arrives in your inbox: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/archive.phtml
I am both an insomniac and a night worker - self-employed but could not sleep so was working through the night in between forum browsing and a bit of bargain hunting"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

I put the tripod in my basket last night at about 11.30 (at £4.50) and thought I would spend a relaxing hour choosing some essential items to reach the magic £15.
Got to 12.30am, decided I was clear on the baby front (he's got croup)! and went to check out. Gutted to see the tripod had magically increased to £12 (I know its only £8 but it's the principle).
Decided that if it bothered me that much then I probably didn't really need the items, so decided to be a true moneysaver and cancelled everything and saved myself £20...;)0 -
There seems to be something going on in Amazon. They must be monitoring the site visits on these discounted products. Anyway, thanks for the post!0
