£56.25 a week. Google "JSA RATES"
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

what an incentive if that was true - commit a crime and we will pay more. I really hope that it isn't the case (I've never heard of it) but with the daft ideas this govt throws around I'd not say never.

I think ex prisoners claiming JSA are to be put on the Work Programme. All this means is you will be referred to a company such as A4e, Avanta, Ingeus etc and an advisor will help you with your CV and job searches. You'll be entitled to travel costs and cups of tea/water, but I don't think there's any automatic extra, over and above whatever prisons give upon completing sentence.

You can also apply to the Flexible Support Fund via your WP provider.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

When you come out of prison and need things like clothes or furnishings etc for a flat you can apply for a Community Care Grant. Most people get turned down for these and thats why you have to appeal. If you have someone to help you with this like a housing worker or a support worker then you have a better chance of getting it.
People coming out of prison also get a small discharge grant- I think its about 50 quid.
