Morning MSE
When I need my garden supplies I find my self constantly going to the same provider as I feel I can trust they will provide what I need without fault.
I feel I should spread my shopping to different suppliers to get more variety, would anyone be able to provide me with some names of good suppliers please?
Many thanks.

I am fairly new to this gardening malarky now that I have an actual garden to plant things in. I used to get my tomato food from Wilkinsons and occasionally would buy seeds from them too.

I use Blooms garden centre in Worcester but there is one at Bournville and I have registered for a gardening club card which has no joining fee and pays you 5 points for every £1 spent which is then converted into vouchers. I find Blooms to be reasonably priced and their plants are excellent.

There is a good garden centre at Mappleborough Green nr Studley - mum told me about it and I think it is called Studley Garden Centre. I know that mum goes there a lot and buys plants and compost which are far cheaper than the huge place at Wychbold nr Droitwich. Mum is very particular about her garden and will only frequent places where she gets good deals and the plants are good.

    HTH - happy gardening.
  • I mainly go out to buy all my plants and seeds, get all the products like plant food and lawn care online, I don't think it's a smart idea to buy plants off the internet as I have done before and they have become damaged. I get my plants from various gardening centres, and everything I get online is mainly from Midland Garden supplies, I also order off Harrod Horticultural ( If i've remembered how to spell it correctly ) :)

I have had some plug plants from Thompson & Morgan which I purchased over the internet, I got them from an offer in the Radio Times. 36 perennial plug plants for £4.90 which was the cost of postage. The plugs arrived on Thursday and although small are good - my mum has potted them up for me and noticed that I had double the amount of lavender seedlings because there was more than one plant in the plug.

I must admit that I prefer looking at the plants in the flesh before buying but I will consider plug plants via the internet again.

I mostly buy veg seeds and I've been happy with Dobies and The Organic Seed Catalogue - online.

I am fortunate that there are quite a few garden centres within a 15 mile radius. I tend to shop around but one garden centre is actually one of the biggest producers of garden plants to the trade. They have cash and carry sales for the public spring and autumn and I get a lot of bedding plants then. I have never had great success with plug plants bought on line.
