Please can anyone tell me should you let the insurance company know if you receive a speeding fine and 3 points. I have been told to wait for the renewal as they will charge extra but am thinking would this invalidate my insurance if at any time if I needed to make a claim.

Depends on the T&Cs of your policy - some require to be told straight away. Check your paperwork.0

If you dont tell them and need to claim they may say oh youve got points sorry your too high a risk and your policy is cancelled.
