Thank you all for your well wishes, it's more for my partner than myself as like pdej4 said it's a very emotional thing to buy a home, hopefully it goes through as it really will be like a fresh start for us both and a second chance that we will be very lucky and grateful to get.

Homebuilder advised property was valued yesterday, report due for Monday to Halifax - so is it rare for Halifax to move to valuation if they forsee any issues on the credit report?

I checked Equifax and can't see any searches from them, but I don't have a login for Experian yet (waiting for a pin in the post) and wondering if that's the CRA they use?

I also got the final bits of evidence to my broker today and he thinks everything ties up nicely.

I'm not as up to date as the brokers, but they wouldn't normally proceed to valuation if your credit history was bad. As I've said before they can recheck at any stage if they think it necessary, but it hold be unlikely. When I worked for them hfax used Experian by default and we had to manually check equifax every now and then. Good luck!

The information about me on Experian and Equifax is the same so I don't think it will be a problem in that respect.

I can see a lot of mortgage quotation searches from Bank of Scotland, Halifax, Lloyds in my experian file so I trust that with them taking the valuation fee on the 14th and the searches occuring on the 14th I should be almost there!

My AIP was done the month before and those searches are there too, although I can't see how to tell the difference between a soft or hard search in experian.

Good luck. We just moved 2 weeks ago. Every time I swear I won't do it again, or I'll at least pay someone to do the move for me but never do! Hope it all goes well.
  • Congratulations to both of you! Can't believe how quick you moved in after being accepted!!!

    Fingers crossed for me :0
  • Fingers crossed, I got the mortgage offer a while back just forgot to update the thread until now - just to let people with small defaults know there is a chance, although I know I have been lucky.
