Spanish Speeding Fine Nightmare

  • This has just happened to me. I was doing 97Km in an 80km zone on the 21st July and ticket arrived yesterday, 5th Oct!. Fine was Euro100 but Euro50 if you pay quickly. I figured it was easier to pay it rather than run the risk of being stoppedfor another traffic offence some time in the future and running into problems. (You hear stores of this happeneing 5 years after the event.)

It is not as straight forward to pay on line as you may think. It is important that the "Identicator" marked on the fine matches which, if you are English is driving license. If you use your passport, which is another option, it would recognize it.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

Definitely worth coughing up 50 euros now if you ever plan on driving in Spain again!

  • DON'T IGNORE THE FINE!

Just read this post including the comments - http://www.mamunahmed.com/08/speed-camera-fines-how-to-pay-spanish-speeding-or-driving-fine-from-uk/
  • Question is, what can they do to you if you don't pay? Answer is nothing, so long as you are not on Spanish territory.

Why pay a fine when all they can do is request you pay it ? There is no data sharing between the dvla and their counterparts in Europe, so there is no way they can enforce it, and you won't get points etc. If the vehicle is hired you run the risk of an admin charge, but once the hire company hands over your details I believe that their involvement is over, though could be wrong on that
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Perhaps because you committed the offence and have some sort of conscience?

I can imagine how some of you would react if foreign drivers were getting away with speeding on UK roads.
    Can I help?

Foreign drivers are the worst at speeding as they know they can get away with it.

Do you mean British drivers abroad or foreign drivers on British roads, or both?
In any case, do you have any evidence for your assertion?
