Have searched high and low and looking to see if any fellow MSE's can find a cheap holiday in the UK for me and my other half.
Live in east anglia and did want to stay round Yorkshire coast but cant find any in our price range. Money is very short but REALLY need a break from it all.
Would welcome anywhere near coast in the UK, scotland a bit too far and been to Cornwall/Devon lots so looking for something different
Budget no more than £200. £150 or less would be better, the cheaper the more we can spend while there

Have you tried Youth Hostelling? It's not as basic as it used to be and they do family rooms so you don't have to sleep in different dormitories any more. The buildings span from cottages to castles and the prices vary depending on facilities etc but still cheap compared with hotels and b & bs. Most are in scenic areas too and also allow travel by car although walking or cycling is best.
Alternatively, have you tried Ebay for renting a cottage or flat. I won an auction for a chalet in Scotland in 2008 for just £53 for a week (including electricity bedding and towels) but it was the night before the holiday start date that the auction ended. In 2010 we even got a farm house sleeping 8 for only £153 inclusive of electric and gas, but neither was during the high season admittedly. As your dates avoid school holidays you should be able to stumble on a bargain.
Good luck.Never trust a financial institution.
