I wish that it wasn't necessary to select an event.
It's not. You have to select either an event/events, or a date/dates, or both.
You can select just a date (or all the dates) to see all sports on those days.

Edit: Wow. The tickets come and go fast don't they? When I posted post #10 in this thread there were tickets for 16 events listed, when I went back to the site to copy/paste the link for this post there were 15, and when I refreshed the page there were 17!

If you use the drop down menu to select all dates eg Wed 29th Aug to Sun 10 Sept (or whatever) you can see everything available but not if you just use the default setting - that tells you there's nothing. And yes, Olympic Park stuff goes really fast

Or you can choose a venue and see everything available for there

That's where i was going wrong. I kept selecting the default. I have just tried again and it is offering basketball on 1 morning but I don't think I can go then. I possibly could just pay for that event and then use it as a ground access but perhaps they wouldn't admit me if I arrived after the scheduled event.
  • coincidence? fate? Call it what you will but...
someone call ruby browning has tweeted and retweeted on my timeline about having two for this date and needing a swap. @rubybrowning about 20 minutes ago. Maybe message her and see if you can come to some sort of arrangement.

Some days the basketball is available all day on one ticket. I doubt they expect anyone will actually watch for 7 hours

do you mean you wouldn't be able to reach the venue at all before your ticket session finished? Because if you can get there during the timescale of the session, you'll be let into the Olympic park.

Hope you can get your tickets but maybe you could try and get a day pass, just to get inside the stadium anyway. A friend of mine went to basketball and said it was great fun - she's really not that into it, but it was just the day out and atmosphere.
Athletic tickets - actually all tickets for the stratford site - seems to vanish as soon as they go on the site now. Unless you are prepared to dedicate a lot of time to getting them, with the chance you won't get any, I would start to get your little girl excited about some of the other athletes, who she will be able to see. Excel tickets seem to be all that is available. I've heard various reports that all available tickets are currently online and then reports that more tickets will be released this week.
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

I can't go to any morning or afternoon events because I am not allowed to take any leave

Even if you can only get there in the evening, the £10 day passes are pretty good value.
