When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning  gosh Monday comes round so quick doesn't it???! Ah well here it is supposed I'd better make the most of it!

Things for today:
:D check banking
:D checked TCB but cash back still not payable even though it's confirmed as being payable from 10/8/12???
:D all meals from stores, lo pasta bake for lunch Mmm
:D decide on dinner and get something out of the freezer:
:D check one poll and sb
:D go for a run after work
:D mrs fly lady
:D iron and take pics of things to eBay
:D exchange club card vouchers for a cinema ticket :T
:D make sure everything is turned off at the sockets

Ok that's all me for for today. Have a great Monday y'all x

Morning. Thanks for starting dnms :)

I've had a busy week last week and haven't been posting. And I'm falling off the wagon so need to get back on the straight and narrow!

I passed both the ACCA exams I took :) (just 7 to go) and I got a 2nd interview for that job! :)

    - checked bank. It's not good!! I paid for my December exams and only one will be reimbursed (one is a resit)... (£75 each). I've put my claim in and that'll be paid on Wednesday.
    - cc have taken a battering this week.. Left it at home today.
    - need to call vanquis as they still haven't paid that £5!!!!
    - I forgot I had half day today and brought lunch, so ill eat that on the train home!
    - need to go home tonight (been staying at bf for last week)

Can't think of anyone else but will prob update later! Have a good day everyone!!

    hi
i am a newbie here and very inspired by so much helpful advice. it is also very reassuring to know i am not alone in my battle with debt. my plan 2day is.....

to call and make an appointment with the debt advisor (have been putting it off but there are NO magic fairies)

to sit hubby down and talk to him about how serious it is, he knows but is in denial.

hopefully by the end of month we will be in a dmp of some sort and things will seem brighter.

    happy monday all xx

  • * Check online banking and make sure everything's where it should be
    * Hang the laundry up to dry on the airer
    * Batch-cook some bolognese and chilli for the freezer
    * Take the baby for a nice long walk along the river
    * Pick up some baby food to take to my parents' house (no freezer for homemade baby food, but we're getting a free week away!)
If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...
  • Hiya all.

In the middle of moving so for me a nightmare between two houses.

    Done so far:
    brekky for the family.
    Made beds
    Checked bank account.
Checked Credit Card & Paid off 120.00 as i sold my lawn mower and play frame yesterday. Only 20.00 left to go on it!

    Today i have to:
    Box up my master bedroom.
Get old clothes together for Cash4clothes
take pictures of decent clothes and list on e-bay tonight.
take pictures of garden stuff such as bike and 10ft swimming pool.
Make a dent on emptying Garage and at least one trip to the tip to get rid of cardboard and stuff.
With only two weeks left of the move starting to panic over time so on... Gulp! so hoping my e-bay stuff goes quickly as am not allowed to clutter up new house!
    1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16
    Make £2.50 a day £80.82/77.50
