Your case does seem to suggest a lack of professionalism on SP part. Perhaps unfortunately for me, I am in the process of joining SP and so far I have not been all that impressed. It's very early days so they could improve and if not then I will leave.
It just goes to show, for a relatively small saving, some of these power companies can cost far more in terms of a person's time and unnecessary stress. Unfortunately much of that is never repaid. It's worth asking yourself whether the savings are really worth it.0 -

I would totally agree with this.
Low cost can mean poor service, look at FU.
I would rather pay slightly more for no problems than be on the phone all the time!:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
I got a phone call from southern electric(SE) yesterday about the switch. They wanted to find out if they could keep my custom. However their figures were some way off the SP costs and when the £70 cashback comes into it, the difference was even larger.
I did tell him about the frequent sales calls from SE which was the most annoying thing about SE for me. Everything else apart from the prices was great but having sales calls at all hours of the day and late evening is something that I did not like. That alone was enough to make me want to switch!0 -
Which they were not interested in resolving part from threats and court letters.
We had moved property from a rented to our own, stayed with SP, final bills etc in our name, paid up, accounts transferred etc,
Approx 2 1/2 years later had letters claiming we owed then £xxxxx.
Transpired that tenants after us had transferred there electric/gas and somehow SP had set them up on our account number!
Now SP are the cheapest for our energy, when our tariff ends in August and I'm very reluctant to switch to them.0
