Donot trust cosmos holidays!!!!!!!!

Options
The !!!!!!!s have just cancelled our dream holiday of 2 weeks all inclusive in Sri Lanka that we booked on the phone to a rep and paid in full, got all the conformations only for them to cancel it by letter weeks later saying they had listed it too cheap and could not sell it to us at that price.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR THE PRICES THEY PUT ON THE WEB!!!

avoid disappointment go with some other company someone with some integrity or common decency. You go buy something in a shop and they have listed the item at the wrong price that is their fault and you can buy it at that price but it seems that if you deal with very unscrupulous companies on line and on the phone YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS WHAT SO EVER

very !!!!ed off, and i hope Cosmos go bankrupt

  • You're not happy then?
  • Im not sure they are allowed to do that. Have you checked that out with trading standards?

Contact Trading Standards / Consumer Direct. Once they have accepted payment and issued confirmation it is a binding contract.

how does the actual price compare with what you paid? was is "too good to be true" did it look like an obvious error?
Cosmos should have at least given you the option to pay the correct price or cancel. I am sure their Ts&Cs will cover off pricing errors but that is more normally related to what is showing on the web (to cover, for example, when it says £5.50 instead of £550) not sure about booking on the phone....did the agent actually tell you the wrong price?
  • @caz3121
The price was just under £800 per person so no it was not so far from other prices £200 cheaper or so.
We called the rep and booked over the phone to make sure the price was correct there was NO problem with the price at the time of sale.

Bob ... whatever gave you that idea :|

    @luci & Annie1975
In the process of doing that now.. just not expecting much from that lot except a lot of humming and shoulder shrugging, but we'll try thanks :)

Read the booking conditions which should be on their website.

I got a company to honour a price they later said was incorrect by quoting their booking conditions back at them.

I agree that they usually have a get out if it is an obvious mistake as per the example about. However I would expect that to be picked up almost immediately and not weeks later.

Well, you did say in your opening post that it was a "dream holiday" and Cosmos have done their utmost to make sure it remains so (i.e. a dream).

The use of "No problem" is almost as annoying as "OK?" in similar situations - possibly even more. At least with "OK?" one can reply that "No, it is not OK".

Where were you planning on staying?

I would certainly check out the likes of Mercury Direct and Kuoni for competitive pricing. There have been Emirates and Qatar sales announced recently - if these airfares are still on sale you could get yourself a really good deal. The Emirates A380 out of LHR is fab!
