What is the most amount of money you have made from selling unwanted gifts?

I have just sold 4 items on eBay for just over £100 which were all unwanted gifts I found while tidying up my bedroom. How much money have you made from selling unwanted gifts? Does anyone have any guilt from doing this? :p

I've got several crap presents accumulating dust in a cupboard - pretty much all from my brother!

I doubt i'd make a tenner selling them!
Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!

  • I have sold the odd item - perfume has done well - I usually set the auction to private so that no-one knows what I sold!

I would not feel bad about this as long as it wasn't from a member of my immediate family (living with me) - they might find out and feel hurt.

Otherwise it's a good idea really if it brings in some money. I have some stuff gathering dust so maybe I'll go and get listing. :D
  • A few years ago i was offered the contents of one of two boxes if i helped out a customer (he wanted to know if i could drop a few flight cases off at his brothers in the next town 'as a favour' because the company i was working for had quoted him something silly like £70)

My reward was the choice of two boxes his brother would offer me. I got there dropped the cases off and his brother offered me the two boxes, i picked one and opened it.

Result...A £1400 cam corder with all it's accesories. The other box had a PS2 and some games (which was almost new at the time and would of been eqally welcome)

Took it home, tried it out, got bored of it and listed it. End result was £560+postage. The day the buyer got it, he sent me a paypal gift payment to cover my paypal fees...

Best sale on ebay for me, price wish.
