At least I know my settings are working!

Strangely enough during the course of today I have received 3 emails from 3 different users about 2 of my items, all the users wanted me to remove my '2 strikes= no bid' settings.

All 3 had an excuse as to why they had two or more strikes, all were high feedback buyers, 2 were in the UK 1 was Dutch.

I usually get a couple such emails a month, but 3 in one day is a record. Maybe more sellers are using the NPB process and maybe that means we'll start to see less non payers over all?

Here's hoping.

    what lame excuses?

Most of the people tend to blame the sellers or claim it was all a misunderstanding, some even say they can't understand why they are blocked due to strikes as they haven't got any.

I always particularly like the'I didn't pay for a few things but I'll pay for yours- promise' excuse, has anyone ever relented when they get that message I wonder.

What part of "entering a contract to buy" do they not get? :rotfl:

One has now come back to me to say they will pay me £30 for the item as they really want it, even though it was sold last night at £22 and posted out this morning. This non paying lark gets expensive for a buyer doesn't it?

A little while ago I had a request from a buyer (who was fairly new but had accumalated a NPB strikes) to allow them to make a purchase. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt, immediately after paying I had the "when will this be posted?" email & everyday until it was delivered (3 days from posting). Ended up with negative feedback to boot.

    Never again!

If you were a less scrupulous person, you could "sell" it again off ebay, get him to send you the money but say bank transfer or Western Union only due to the non paying history and then not bother sending the item. :p That non paying really would be expensive then. :rotfl:

Well what else do they expect sellers to do? We cannot leave negative feedback - I'm a private seller, don't sell high value items and don't sell much but I have two cases open at the moment.
And one was for a collect item- buyer just would not respond to my messages despite being a prolific seller (runs a business) himself! For a tenner he's going to get a strike!

That's the odd thing , if I look at my blocked bids log all the bidders prevented from bidding due to strikes they all have high feedback. There isn't a low feedback user amongst them.

Maybe when you've been on eBay for a while as a buyer you feel entitled not to pay for the odd item now and then?
