Hi guys,

Have tried searching online but struggling to get much information on this company, reviews etc

Selling a car at the moment and got a text which says it's from WeBuyCars

In the text they say they can pay £££ for my car, the offer is £200 under the asking price.
It says visit
www.cashmy-car.com

Anyone heard of them before?
Normally wouldn't bother with these we buy any car type places as they usually offer peanuts

I thought the text was maybe just to get my attention, have now filled in details on their website and they've come back an hour later confirmed the quote

  • Hi,

I have just had the very same text about our £13,000 Mercedes car! I did the quote online, and it offered me £12,750. I confirmed the offer and took it right through to the end screen and then it asked for a £50 appointment fee. I thought it was strange when it said you could only pay by UKASH or Western Union. It was at this point, I googled the company and came across your thread.

Obviously I abandoned the quote!! Total scammers! How can they get away with this, some poor unsuspecting people will just pay up and be waiting for them to turn up to buy their car!

Glad I wasnt one of those!!
  • I went through the exact same process...and once I saw I couldn't pay by credit card or paypal, I went to get information on line and found this forum. There must be something that can be done to catch these people. I am first to report this to Autotrader to see what they can do.
  • So glad I came on here and found out what I suspected all along. £50 appointment fee, no reply on mobile number or the landline they give, can only pay through paypoint - I don't think so !!!!!!! As was said before - if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is especially if they ask for money up front.
