I've been to Lidl so many times for attractive offers only to find they have none of them in the store. Admittedly I can;t get there early but I do start to doubt if they actually get much stock in. Are the specials just to get people into the store?

For the more popular offers (chicken breast offers especially), you do need to be there early (8am opening at my local on a Saturday) as sometimes the offers have sold out by 9am!!
Remember, you can buy 6 packs of meat and that's per person (12 packs if you take hubby/partner etc), so that's why the stock goes quick. A lot do max up on the better offers, so sadly late-comers miss out.
I find in my stores that they actually do generally have lots of stock ...................... but that's very early. But the offers are NOT unlimited, possibly they do have a store limit??

Definitely pork loin joint for me, they never do chicken in the half price weekend offers in my local stores!

My meat offer is also the cured pork loin joint - Newcastle upon Tyne.
Tried it the last time and a little too "scented" for me .................... but still worth the money.
Saving pennies, so no Lidl this weekend for myself.

Good luck if chicken is your offer.

    Our meat offer is:
Hazelmead Farm Cured pork loin joint 500g (Mixed pepper or Honey and mustard) £1.99.
    That's in Dorset btw.

I will definitely stock up on the milk. Managed to resist the choc this weekend as have loads left from last time. No gammon left though. :(

Our local store limits the meat deals to 2 per customer.

Has anyone else noticed that although some meat ie the steak or pork looks lovely, turn it upside down and there are dark brown patches?

This has stopped me taking up the offer a couple of times.

I've been told by a supermarket employee that they spray meat to keep it looking pink. If it's brown underneath it's probably that they haven't sprayed that side.

2 per customer seems more fair. I know the early-bird catches the worm but the disabled birds need to save money too!

Its more likely Modified Atmosphere Packaging, most placesreplace the air inside meat packaging with gas with high levels of oxygen - this keeps the meat bright red. Where the underside sits tightly onto the bottom the oxygen can't reach it and affect it. Its not anything to be concerned about.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Pork loin is the meat deal in our Lidl - chicken would have been great!
