Notice Period included in years service?

Hi,
I was made redundant on the 24th July as the company I was working for went into liquidation. We have all filled out our RP1 forms to claim our redundancy pay, outstanding wages and notice pay from the national insurance fund.
This afternoon it suddenly occured to me that my notice period might be included in the number of years service so I went to calculate some dates and see if it was worth querying.
I filled out the RP1 form based on me having 6 years of continuous service. Depending on what date they class as being the first date of my redundancy and whether the statuatory notice period is included in years of service I think I might just be unlucky and the dates work out just 1 day less than a full 7 years service! If anyone can clarify this for me I would be grateful.
Start date= 5/09/2005
Last day actually went into work and was told late in the afternoon we were all out of work and not to come in the next day= 24/07/2012
If the notice period is counted and taken from 24/07/2012 then 6 weeks notice period takes me to 4/09/2012 which is 1 day less than 7 years service. :mad:
If the notice period is counted and taken from 25/07/2012 then 6 weeks notice takes me to 5/09/2012 which is bang on 7 years from my start date. :j
Can't quite get my head round whether that then means I add an extra weeks notice pay as well as redundancy?!

The notice period due is the notice due at the time it is given.
So, you were entitled to 6 weeks notice at the time it was given.
Notice runs from the day after it is given. My calendar suggests six weeks from and including 25 July is 4 September (not 5 September) and so that is the last day of employment - but still completing 7 years service.0 -
Would there be any entitlement to accrued holiday pay too? I received it, although my firm didn't go bust.Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. Holiday would accrue up to the date of termination.
The employer can say when the holiday is taken so it can be included in the notice period and not need to be paid in addition.0
