Tesco overcharging

My local Tesco often has reduced items, however, most of the time at the till, the original price is charged. I only notice when I get home and check the receipt.
Have others experienced this?
I email Tesco customer service and they add Clubcard points as cash equivalent, or post me a Tesco money card.
It seems to be a particular problem with red peppers and salads.

Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

With most stores it tends to be whenever the original barcode hasn't been covered up properly so the original gets scanned. If it was happening regularly though I would be checking whilst I was there not when I got home.0

My OH loves it when this happens, as she does check the receipt before leaving Tesco, any overcharge found on the receipt is worth double the difference.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I always try and check my receipt before I leave the store, especially if I have purchased reduced items.0

Are they still doing this?
If so I'm missing a trick as I always check my receipts and 1 in 3 are wrong with Tesco, I could be making some dollar0 -
Ah yes, I forget to say they send me double the difference, as that's Tesco policy. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0

Yep. Please argue the toss up to store manager level if necessary.
Do the same thing with Special Offer Promise Vouchers (If the store only has one of a BOGOF etc), as far too many stores don't bother to do these properly.
In simple terms, each time a DTD refund or a Special Offer Promise Voucher is issued, it hits the stores stats. Too many of these and the store manager will have the area manager breathing down his neck, hence the customer service staff are often under pressure not to issue these or deny their assistance.
I work on the Customer Service Desk, and nothing gives me greater pleasure than actively filling in each and every little bit of paperwork correctly
Better for the customers and the boss hates it!

Getting the overcharge added to your clubcard is better than getting DTD if you swap your points for vouchers that are 4 x the value.
I'd be really pleased if that happened to me!0 -
It happens to me all the time. The "customer service" staff in my local branch really resent giving double the diference on these items. I usually have to argue.0

I've never found it a problem when, after getting home, I find I've been overcharged for something or, on a recent visit, got charged for 4 of one item when I'd only purchased two. I just go back to customer service next time, point it out, and they refund the mistake.
Must admit I don't go looking for 'double the difference'. All I ask is that the mistake is rectified, and that's what they do. Always found them very helpful and they've never questioned it.0
