Does anyone know a good place to eat near Alton Towers?

We've managed to get a free weekend to Alton Towers (yay!) but it doesn't include an evening meal (boo!) I've looked on their website and their restaurants are really expensive so we're thinking, since we'll have the car and free parking at the hotel, that we'd like to find somewhere to eat in the surrounding area.

At the moment i've jotted down the postcode of the nearest Wetherspoons pub (which is our kind of budget :o ) but just wondered if anyone is local or has visited themselves and can recommend somewhere nice?

Many thanks :)

I live in a nearby town to alton towers (about 7 miles away) and there are a selection of good restaurants in my area. The town i live in is called Leek and has indian, chinese, greek, thai, fish&chips etc. everything you could want really depending on budget.

There is a pub in the town called the engine room (its the old fire station) that has modelled itself on a weatherspoons and has a very similar menu. Im not sure where the nearest weatherspoons is.....

If you need any more help il be happy to :)
