Do CC Companies Rembember You?

Had a Barclaycard probably over 15 years ago, got into trouble with repayments but paid it all back eventually but like I say, over 15 years ago now.

Would Barclaycard have a black mark against me on their own systems let alone doing a credit check on me? Would they just type my name into their accounts and it would come back with all my previous history with them all those yeas ago?

I'm not applying for a card I am just wondering if there is such a thing as a permanent blacklist or mark against you before even doing a credit check they would just laugh at your audacity at applying?

I guess if you've been in that position then that's good news, and interesting to know. Thanks.

I was defaulted by Barclaycard in around 2002 in my more foolish days. I was accepted for a new card when I applied last year so no it appears they do not necessarily take into account previous problems with them

It's good to hear. I was in the same boat as you, young and stupid with my money however I don't think it will get better for me as capital one and vanquis have turned me down so I won't be applying for that Barclaycard anytime soon.

My sister works for Barclays and she told me they only keep customer account records for 7 years after they are closed and all records are deleted after that time.
    Sorted out my finances...

Ha yeah, my credit report is clean now and I owe nothing however as capital one was one of the cards I messed up on years ago this is why I asked if the keep your details on their files, seems that they must do.

Serves me right I guess. Get into debt with capital one and if you mess that up then that really is your last chance saloon as nobody else will touch you with a smelly stick.

Defaulted well over 6 years ago and nothing is on my report but in all seriousness, why would they touch me.

All my fault as I said.
