Grape vine - recommended sellers?
Hi,
Now that we've finally finished the landscaping I'm turning my thoughts to plants.
We have a rose arch that I'd like to grow a couple of grape vines over.
I noticed that Thompson and Morgan had 1x red and 1x white vine for £34.99. (Dornfelder & Phoenix)
On the other hand, J. Parker's have 1x red and 1x white for £9.99 ( Boskoop Glory & Madeleine Sylvaner).
There isn't really any additional information.
Does anyone know what accounts for that massive difference in price? Or general experience of the two retailers?
Any other places I should consider buying from?
Many thanks!

Hi
I bought 6 grapevines from Homebase a couple of years ago for £1.99 each .. They had been reduced from 19.99... If I were you, I would pop into Homebase and see if they still sell them and, if so, go back at the end of August and see if they are starting to reduce them..
I hope this helps0 -
Depends if you want them as a decorative item or you're hoping for some fruit from them
There are decorative vines out there and they're quite attractive, reddish leaves and like. If you're looking for fruit especially something to eat as dessert then theres really only one choice and thats Black Hamburgh which in a good summer will give edible fruit if in a sheltered warm place.0
