How does work effect housing benefit

I would like to try permitted work whilst on incapacity benefit, how would this effect Housing Benefit. Do they take the money you earn off your housing benefit or is it stopped completly. It would be a minimum wage type job maybe 7 hours a week with the possibility of an increase to 12 hours a week if I can cope.
