Is this a good deal? Tenerife, AI, 7nt

We're currently looking for an all inclusive 7 night holiday (2 adults), going from Newcastle (could do Teesside or Leeds Bradford).

We've found a package deal, vital stats are:

Friday 1st June
4 star hotel - Dunas Paraiso Hotel in Tenerife (Playa Paraiso)
All Inclusive
7 nights
£353

Should I wait for a few weeks to see if the price goes down? They say the full amount is due 9 weeks before the holiday which is actually this coming Friday (30th) - do they discount further if I book within 9 weeks of departure, or is this just wishful thinking? I'm afraid the holiday will go by that point.. all the other sites I've searched want around £400 for the same package - it seems that this particular holiday from that travel agent has a discount on it. It makes me think that it's a bit of a fluke and maybe I should book ASAP to make sure noone else gets it!!

Also, I could pay a supplement to have a "suite" room which would give us an extra living area. However this is approx £60 extra per person. Is there any way I could get this cheaper? Phoning the hotel direct after the booking has been made for example? Or is this more wishful thinking :rotfl:

Thanks for any help :)

  • I had a quick look at the sites I use - like to think I know where the best bargains are.... As your flight is from north it seems its generally going to be a bit dearer, but all in all I would say it is a good price. I assume it includes all taxes and 'extras' - do watch out for those. But if it is just what you say - GO FOR IT, have fun !!!

Hi the deal doesn't look too bad to me but some of the guys on here could probably beat it, they're pretty good!

One thing i will say though is if somsome does try to find it cheaper, don't change the hotel because the Dunas Paraiso is lovely, it's in Playa Paraiso and there's not much around the hotel but there's no need to leave to be honest!
The rooms are huge, it's more like an apartment, with two bathrooms and a huge balcony that has two loungers as well as a table and chairs on it. it's spotlessly clean throughout.
The food is plentiful and there's something for everyone, there's a main restaurant and then a specialist chinese/italian where you can book in twice per stay (the chines is amazing!) the entertainment is good - in the day they have little competitions by the pool with the prizes given at the evening entertainment. That consists of children's mini disco followed by a parrot show or similar, followed by the main show.

If you're like us you'll come home singing "I save the day, I save tomorrow...."the hotel song, which is really catchy!

There are two swimming pools, the top, quieter pool is quite cold, but the other, main pool is heated. They only let you go to the sunbeds from 9.00, so as long as you're there then you'll have no problem getting one!

We went for a week earlier this year and loved it, wd really didn't want to leave, it was so relaxing.

If you want to ask any more specific questions feel free to PM me!

Yes, that price includes all taxes, charges, extras blah blah. :)

Can I ask what sites you had a look on?

  • hi there Noctu

just like to ask one question it seems like a great deal this who is it with ?

also like one person has said dont go anywhere else i have stayed here and would not stay in another hotel all inclusive in tfs yes there will be beter ones but for dble the price nearly at that price i could sell a plane load it seems very cheap to include meals/transfers/fuel

even if you on the jet2 flight which we buy nett and finding accom and taxi or shuttle still nearly no profit in there to cover you for atol

also this will not come down so dont wait

if all is well have a great holiday as for the suite dont bother the rooms are fantastic anyway and if you booked a standard room there is not alot of them and most ppl i talked to had been upgraded anyway foc i know i did but i did tell them i was agent on second thoughts they all face the sports pitch out front so you could end up with no sea view and kids playing football most of the day there is a hug hfointain outside which will stop any nopise from th kids though

    have fun

Just to warn you, there is no beach at playa paraiso, its a rocky/lava rock type shoreline:( . Its about 20 mins (if I remember correctly) on the bus from las americas. But it is west facing & has pretty sunsets:D
