I don't know. I wish I knew more about benefits, but I don't have the time to keep up

However, I think you might find a visit to http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx useful
Hope it helps! Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
It is their income (and savings) - you will affect them slightly - ie you will be a none dependant for things like council tax - but in the scheme of things their savings (if any) are more likely to be the sticking point.0

You will not be expected to keep your parents.
If the worst happens, they will need to apply as a couple. Your mother should get contributions based JSA allowance initially. Try putting their situation into one of the benefits calculator websites to get an idea of what they may get.0 -
If your mum applies for contribution based JSA then your dad's earings and their savings will not be taken into account.
Only after the contribution based JSA runs out (approx. 6 months) then will dad's income and their savings will be taken into account.
Depending on their savings they can apply for CTB as this is based on low earnings.
By the way, how old is your Mum (thinking as to whether she might be eligible for) Pension credit0 -
Presumably you are also paying a reasonabe amount of 'board' money intot he family coffers.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Very sensible to be prepared.
You can put a variety of scenarios into the benefits calculators so that you're prepared for whatever happens.0
