Indesit Washer Dryer problems

Hi all, is this correct place to post this?

We have an Indesit Washer Dryer, model WIDL126, which we bought around 5 months ago. The first one broke down and was replaced by Indesit warranty.

The replacement, like the original, is literally ruining our clothes, it causes excessive creasing to the point that clothes cannot be ironed, even with much steaming. We don't even use the dryer as our clothes come out too hot to touch, with creases so bad that we have to wash the clothes again. The anti crease function does nothing, and our clothes are getting lots of bobbling.

My question is, can we just get our money refunded and get Indisit to pick it up on the basis that it is so bad? It was originally bought from Argos, who say it is now Indesit's responsibilty. Anyone else had same problems?

Thanks

    Hi,

Have you tried lowering the spin speed? The higher the spin the greater the creasing as a general rule.

Unfortunately by choosing to accept a replacement from Indesit you have lost your statutory rights against Argos, since the product you have now is effectively a different one to the one they sold you. This is a shame, as statutory rights can be a lot stronger and last a lot longer than manufacturers warranties.

You are now entirely bound by the terms and conditions of Indesit's warranty, so you will need to read this and see what they offer. They can set whatever terms and conditions they like, unfortunately.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing; if you had pursued the matter via Argos and got your replacement via them, you could now be seeking rescission of contract which is a partial refund (allowing for usage) under the Sale of Goods Act, but sadly this route is most probably closed to you now.

    Hi

Try putting your problem on the www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk forum, they have repair and consumer advice on there for all white goods, and each type has a section (ie washing machines, dishwashers etc). I have found they have alot of engineers on there who offer very good and quick advice.
