TELEWEST - Poor Service ?

Fault developed yesterday in digital service provided by Telewest.
Stated 4 days before technician can attend and fix problem.
Told them it was really poor service. Reply staff require to take holidays
resulting in poor service to customers.
Contacted friend who has sky who told me that his digital televison
service developed a fault and was fixed within 24 hours.
Thinking of changing and looking for information to assist.
Thanks

Yep, Skymultiroom £10 extra per month, you do have to buy the extra boxes outright I believe unless you take Sky+ as well.

    Details on https://www.sky.com

I think you'll be paying £15 a box with Telwest as well unless you have the new customer deal for £10 per box.

I have to say that I've had completely the opposite experience with Telewest and Sky.

Telewest have always had an engineer out to us the same day or the next day if that was not possible, even coming out 9 times in 6 weeks when we had a batch of faulty boxes. They even gave us 3 months free television to apologise for this problem.

We opted to switch to Sky+ when Telewest lost Nickleodeon, the engineer came out, took one look at our extension, sucked in his teeth, said I can't do that, you'll have to have a special installations team (without even looking at the front to see if he could place it there) when we got a call from their service department they could only install in three weeks time. Telewest was being disconnected the next day, leaving us with three kids and no telly for three weeks.

In the end I told Sky where they could stick their installation, called Telewest to cancel the cancellation and they gave us 2 months free movies to say thank you for staying with them.

Their customer service personnel are always polite, friendly and knowledgable, they bend over backwards to help you out and the Blueyonder service is IMHO beyond compare, their guys have even helped me out with things not internet related.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Over the past 2 days have spoken to many people regarding the service
    of Sky and Telewest.
Sky wins the good servcie award by a mile after the installation has been installed.
Many problems with sky first installing hardware.
Telewest which I have been with for 10 years have reduced staffing
levels thereby resulting in poor service which can only get worse as
they are having reduce costs regarding their massive debts.
    Cost wise Sky also wins.

i tried to see how much it would cost to go over to sky - it works out at nearly double what i am paying - internet/phone/tv, etc and isnt worth doing it seperate...so, for now i am staying put.....might think about buying one of them payview boxes one day instead.....

Like you magoogy I am seriously considering freeview for I usually end up watching either BBC1, BBC2,STV,Channel 4 or 5.
I can always go to the pub and watch the sports channels
Still waiting for my television service to be fixed !
