I've been thinking for a while to open a business but I need a good location..
I've seen a bit of land on a huge car park thats never busy, the car park is owned by a well known franchise.. Is it possible to ask if I can lease a bit of land from them?
If so how can I go about it?
Thanks

Why not? Don't ask you'll not get. Nornal route would be to send a letter addressed to the manager explaining your proposal. They may ask for a meeting to discuss it further. Your local businesslink would help you if you need help with the steps or preparing for a meeting.0 -
Depending on what you intend to do with the land, you may need planning permission. You need to factor this into any land or premises you look at. All commercial land/property has planning permission for a specific type of use and you can't use it for something completely different without planning permission (or more accurately "Change of Use").Warning ..... Can you tell us vaguely what you are doing on this land?

If you are looking to put something on someone else’s car park, you may get lucky, but a lot of businesses are required to have adequate parking relative to the size of the building. Even if the spaces are never filled, planning permission may have stated they needed that many parking spaces.0
