Selling empty Ugg box

Would it be ok to sell an empty Ugg box on eBay, it has all the care cards and everything. See if I can make some money, even 99p would please me! I would make sure it was very very clear it's an empty box.

Or, should I just recycle it?

Don't see why not, but if all you get is 99p this equates to about 35p once ebay and pay pal have had their cut, maybe a little more. It is free to list this weekend, so you have nothing to lose by beginning with a higher starting price, but I can't see it making you rich!

I sold an empty iPhone box, made clear it was just the box. I was expecting maybe a couple of quid tops but went for around £12 and I received great feedback. This was shortly after the iPhone 4 came out, not sure it would go for as much if I was selling it now.

  • I'd go for it, just make it very clear that it is just an empty box. It's a free listing weekend so it's not going to cost you anything other than a bit of your time to list. Who knows, in 10 days time you might be a little better off, or have a few pennies in your PayPal account to put towards a purchase for yourself.

I once sold an empty iPod box, don't recall exactly what it went for, but was about £5 I think. I couldn't really believe it but the buyer told me he wanted it as he had the full contents of the box that he wanted to sell as "boxed" in the hope of it selling for more that way.

No, you will get it pulled. It's not permitted to sell designer packaging. Don't know about phone packages, but think about it for a moment.

Empty boxes assist people trying to scam others - no wonder someone paid so much for an iPhone box, they probably had a knock-off or a brick to put in it. One very common scam out there is to sell packaging from an expensive item filled with rubbish that makes it feel like the item is actually in there. OK, buyers shouldn't fall for these scams, but neither should sellers perpetuate or assist them.

  • I've seen a lot of these empty packaging items for sale on ebay - don't see what the problemn is if you have the item but threw the box away as these sorts of items usually sell for more if you advertise it as in OEM packaging, but potential is there for fraud, of course. Used cameras, in particular, sell for up to 20% more if advertised as boxed in original packaging. Trouble is, this little island seems to have a burgeoning shyster population who spoil it for everyone.

Probably assisting scammers selling dodgy goods.

They will probably be filled with fake ones, Maybe given as a gift. Person doesnt like them as sells them on as genuine.

Forget us - the planet has enough shysters who spoil it for everyone else.
