Egg Card Insurance Offers

Not sure where to post this as it is free money & a car insurance money saver.
Hi, I have searched for car insurance using the Confused.Com link, the best price for my renewal was £97.00 cheaper than my last years quote, great I thought. I then checked out Tesco & Egg, both were identical & saved another £52!
Heres the bonus, Egg are offering a further £50.00 cashback & 0% interest if you pay by your Egg card or have a Egg savings account. So my £453 insurance will now cost me £254.50.
Egg customers check out this link.

  • Its a bit risky putting it on this board if angelcake moderator cakey sees it. ;D ;D
  • I've also just renewed using the Egg cashback offer which gives an extra 10% off if you sign up online

    Tesco's quote was £157.50
Egg's quote less 10% discount for online £150.15 but minus a further £50 cashback and interest free for the premium on the card. So £100 for fully comp on a 306 seems like a bargain to me.

  • We did this also. Regardless of the offer of free money, egg's quote was considerably less than any other quotes. It was for my boyf's car insurance as he has just changed his car. His previous insurer - norwich union quoted over 1100 (he's only been driving for 4 months), where as egg only wanted 700. When he phoned NU to cancel they were speechless when he asked if they could match egg's offer. ;D

Good deal if you factor in the £50 and the 10%.

  • This is an offer from Egg for £20 for a family but needs to be applied for by 31 Dec 2004. You need an Egg card to pay for it. Look at

Just thought I'd bring this to your attention....

Egg motor insurance appear to be offering a pretty good deal at the moment:
    • £30 off if you're an Egg-card customer (aren't we ALL, to get the anniversary 0% interest offer....?)
    • 10% off premium if purchased on-line
    • 0% interest for 12 months if purchased with your Egg card
    http://new.egg.com/visitor/0,,3_11183--View_818,00.html

In MY case, the premium worked out to be the same as my renewal premium.
However, a friend was able to save almost £200 by switching to this Egg deal.

Note, however, that the on-line premium quoted, already takes into account the 10% discount ie. you can't take 'another' 10% off. However, it doesn't take account of the £30 discount.

    Cheers,
    Don

If you're not already an Egg Card holder, you can get £5 cashback for a successful application. Details here.

Me being a loyal Egg customer n'all that, I logged on to pay my credit card bill this morning (at 0% of course!!) and noticed that they were doing another cheap travel insurance offer like they did last year

I remember posting about it then - think it was November time - and it was £20. This time they've made it £15 for annual family european cover, and you can upgrade to cover worldwide for £35 more.

If I hadn't taken out the offer last time, I'd be doing it again! Plus no plans for holidays on the horizon :-(

It's only open to people with an Egg Card, until the end of the month. But I guess it would be worth taking one out, transferring everything onto 0% and then taking out the offer! Not sure what their timescales for getting cards are though?

I assume it's one of those things where the £15 you spend will override your 0% balance in terms of paying it off - so be careful

Any egg card holders looking for Annual Travel Insurance, check this out:-

" Can you afford to miss out on this great offer? Annual European family travel insurance for just £15. It's only available until 31 March 2005 and it's an exclusive offer for Egg Card customers, so hurry.

Take a look at what you get for your 15 quid:

Cover for the whole year, no matter how many European trips you make - up to a maximum of 31 days per trip.

Family cover - covers two adults and any number of their children aged under 18 (or 22 if in full time education). You are not required to specify all dependants' names.

17 days' winter sports cover automatically included.

Just pay an extra £35 to upgrade the policy to worldwide cover, or £15 for business travel. "

It's all on the egg website. I'm gonna check it when I get time, even though our present world-wide cover doesn't expire until May.

Actually, NeilD's earlier thread about Travel Insurance has already alerted everybody to this. Apple logeys, everybody... Still -- better TWO alerts than none at all!
