Hi I only use Electric, on a key meter , I have a card Gas meter, But in the 2 years I have lived there I have never used it, I only use electric , they are asking me now for £220+ for gas meter service, I have never asked for a gas card, but because I am with scottish power , they supply the Gas and Electric in my property, But never asked for a Gas pre pay card, because I had no intentions of using it ever.

I'm afraid that all Utility Co's will levy a "Service Charge" to cover the costs of the maintaining the pipes to your house, which is still charged wether or not you use any gas - All this will be in the contract terms you inherited when you moved into the dwelling.
If you have a Gas Central Heating and Hot Water system installed, it's bit of a puzzle as to why you don't use it as it's cheaper than Electric -Unless that is you have a phobia about gas, which is not uncommon
If you own this property you could ask for the meter to be removed and the supply pipe capped, but this would incur a cost0 -
It wont incur any cost, just ask your supplier to remove the meter and request the gt do a windownDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Or you could switch onto a tariff with no standing charge. If you don't use the gas, there's no bill. A bit less extreme than cutting the supply off...Sealed Pot Challenge #239
