Ideas for colours to go with Natural Hessian walls.

Hi,
looking for some ideas please just painted the walls in my hall,stairs and landing in a Natural Hessian,its not a big space and dosnt get much natural light.the carpet is plain brown. i was thinking of adding some new accessories i currently have golds and browns,but wanted to add some color in order to give it a wow factor., there is also a small window not sure whether to use a blind or voile's.
would be great full for any ideas of colors to brighten the space up.
