What a way to start a new job..
Welcome to the wonderful world of invisible disabilities.
Do you disclose it at the interview and risk a potential employer deciding they don't want the hassle of dealing with a disabled person and thus coming up with some other reason not to hire you?
Do you struggle along for the first few weeks before disclosing, then ask for the adjustment, and hope that in the meantime they don't decide you've failed your probationary period due to timekeeping?
Or do you ask immediately after being hired, like the OP is doing?
If you have a visible disability, such as one that requires you to use a wheelchair, then only the first option is available to you, so good luck getting hired at all in this era of everyone cutting back.0 -

I factor this in when applying for the job.
ie 'If parking is a problem, what other means of transport is available to me and what other options are available?'
In a day and age where parking for all can be a big problem, it's a valid consideration.0 -
In this day and age where even finding a job can be a big problem. People have to apply for and take whatever they can get, even if it is going to cause immense difficulty/pain to actually get there and do the job.0

Surely the question is can the Equality & Disability Act compel an employer to provide a dedicated parking bay when staff parking doesn't seem to be part of the OP's contract of employment.
Yes, I can see that expectations within the workplace must have to be met, but outside?Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -

The act just states "reasonable" and that is so open to interpretation that it really can't compel anybody to do anything outside of a court or tribunal.
Certainly if the employer has a few parking spaces, and there is no other suitable parking around, it would be reasonable to ask, but if the employer is able to "objectively justify" using them for their existing purpose then the adjustment may not be reasonable.
It sucks, my partner is currently going through the same crap with her employer on a non-motoring issue as they have recently removed a reasonable adjustment. Short of going to tribunal/court there is nothing she can do.0
