    They don't have that information at all.

    If the OP didn't tell them, and they applied for an account that did not require a credit check, then there is no way the bank would have known, or have any need to know, about "the past".

    Personally OP, if the bank were clearly not interested in opening the account I asked for I would have walked without explaining about future income.

    Plenty of other banks offering basic services that would be more than happy to welcome you.

    I've been with the Co-op for about 12 years now and even as a simple basic account customer, I think they are brilliant. They call me every time an "odd" transaction happens (a higher amount spent for example) just to check it is not fraud. :T Would rate them 10/10 for customer service, quick, easy and their call centres are in the UK too.

    Love them so much that when I win the lottery I shall keep my money with the Co-op!
