Hi, looking to fly to Singapore (and back from shanghai)next year . The best flight times & prices are with Qatar & just wondered if anyone has any experience of traveling with them? Thanks in advance.

Hi :) my daughter flew to hong kong with Qatar airways in february and she thought it was a pretty good flight the plane was clean and tidy, she said the inflight entertainment was pretty good the only thing she didn't like was the food, would happily use them again :)

I flew back from Nairobi with them once. I normally book with European carriers, but they were much cheaper for a one-way ticket. Both flights (Nairobi-Doha and Doha-Manchester) were absolutely fine but there was a 6 hour wait between them. I decided to shell out to use their lounge at Doha and it was well worth it. I have heard other people say that they don't like the airport.

I flew with Qatar Airways last year; it was slightly cheaper than a Emirates flight; wished I'd booked with Emirates though and would in future, overall a better experience with them

The only downsides of Qatar are their hub airport (Doha) which is a hell hole and their cabin crew - which depending on the flight, can either be superb or indifferent- irrespective of which cabin you fly in.

Their customers relations unfortunately don't match the service they provide in the air - but that applies to many airlines.

Just had a look at flight times and the option I would prefer arrives in Doha at 23.50 and the connecting flight Leaves at 00.50, is this too tight? The next connection is at 02.25, obviously dont want to be hanging aroumd for longer than necessary and the first one Would get us to destination earlier. We have only done connecting flights once -to the states & had to clear customs e.t.c which took time. Presume it would be quicker this time as no customs -if we were to book the later flight would they let us get on the earlier one if we could make it or vica versa? Thanks Colmat.
  • I would say that 1 hour is too tight. You will be fretting all the way if you depart late. Then rushing around when you land. If you just make the connecting flight yourself there is a chance that your hold baggage may not and you will only find out when you land and reach the baggage carousel at your destination.

I would take the later flight. Less stressful. The business lounge at Dohar is brilliant (if you can purchase access).
  • Qatar are superb, especially if you can travel in Business Class. Their Business Class terminal at Doha is fantastic, spa, restaurant, bars and shopping.
