New Car - What would you choose?

My car has finally packed up so have to get a new one. Looking for one about 2/3 years old. Current car is a Seat Leon, and I would like the new one to be of similar size and power 1.6 upwards. Budget is about £6000 ish. Thinking of an Vauxhall Astra, or another Leon or maybe Ford Focus. Any suggestions?

Another Leon. Seat are Volkswagen so much higher build quality. Second would be the Focus as they are pretty well built too, drive well and are normally good spec for the money.
Don't touch the Astra with a barge pole. Vauxhalls are just awful.
If you're doing >10,000 miles a year consider a diesel. Modern turbodiesels are on par performance wise with similarly sized petrols but better fuel economy.0 -
Would buy the Focus
BUT 'Vauxhalls are just awful.' is wrong , thousands of happy drivers pick the vauxhall . But they of course back their judgement with hard earned cash and action .0
