hi guys im new to this forum and need some help
i purchased a fishing bivvy about 13 months ago from a reputable company (wychwood) at a cost of £200.the guarentee is valid for 12 months but has now ran out and i have lots of things wrong with the said bivvy i.e the tension bars have split the groundsheet is frayed and damaged ,some of the material inside is coming apart etc etc.I have spoken to them regarding the matter but they are not willing to do much other than for me to return the item and they would issue a replacement at a discount cost.i dont think this is very fair as i only use this item about once a month so only used 13 times in the past 13 months.what can i do,where do i stand am i right in saying that this item is not fit for purpose?
any advice would be much appriciated thanks for your time.

Sorry, but it seems to have taken you 13 times of using it to decide its not fit for purpose.

Why didnt you deal with it before the guarantee ran out, all these things cant have happened in the last month surely.

How much of a discount will they give you for another purchase.
You certainly arent going to get you money back.

  • not at all,if you bought a tent would you expect it to last for 1 season or several?the main faults actually did happen after the warrenty ran out.A bit of fraying on the fabric etc i can put up with but the main poles have split and the material inside is coming apart £200 for 13 nights use is not good.

Well, i wish you luck with it.

You still didnt say how much of a discount they were going to allow you.

Do you still have the receipt/proof of payment.
