Can my car have an MOT early - going touring for 5 months

I wonder if anyone can help.

My MOT test is due in September, in fact I have just booked the service and MOT. Next year (2013) we are taking the car touring in Europe, leaving the UK in May but not returning until late October.

Is it possible for me to submit my car for an early MOT in April next year so that it will be legal when being used abroad and for driving back in the UK?

I'm insured with Saga who give unlimited European cover so that's OK, just wondered about the MOT.

Should be fine yes.

You can take it in upto 28 days early and get those 28 days added onto the old MOT date, Giving you almost 13 months MOT.

Outside that window you get 12 months from the date of the test. No matter how soon or late you take it.

Simple answer is you can take your car for an MOT everyday should you wish.
