Using Two Paypal Accounts

I'm listing a couple of things on eBay for the first time and at the moment I have a Personal Paypal account. To accept a credit card etc I guess it will ask me to upgrade?!

I've heard most people use both Business and Personal accounts to prevent paying extortionate fees. How can I set this up please? I mainly buy on eBay but will probably start selling more things if I get the buzz! :)

If you're offering pp as a payment listing you're obliged to upgrade your account if someone chooses to pay that way.

Consider a paypal micropayments account if you tend to sell low value items - the fees can work out a little better.

Either you take pp payments and pay fees, or you don't list paypal as a payment method but allow people to pay using cleared funds.

I think Fay has covered most of it however, 'most' if not all sellers have one paypal account for selling and just use that and pay the fees.

It would be virtually impossible to keep within the ebay rules and offer paypal and try to switch between accounts depending on how the buyer sources their paypal payment. Just add your main paypal acocunt to your ebay and as soon as someone wants to pay by card and triggers the upgrade then upgrade to premier and pay the fees.

For payment make sure you only pay by paypal backed by a credit card.

I only just realised this too when setting up my second account.

I forgot that in the begining i used to be able to accept money without fees being taken, but now that ive been forced to upgrade my second account i have to pay them.

Can anyone remember if theres any problems setting up a bank account for paypal?

I have a couple of hundred in my new account, but im tempted to transfer it to my established paypal account then to my bank, incase in setting up my bank details with the new account i encur any problems.

Do you simply fill in the bank details form and press send or does it run checks etc.

    Ah okay thanks...

So if I upgrade my account to the business one, do I have to pay fees when I buy things or only when I sell?

If you upgrade to premier/business PayPal account then you will be charged a fee on all funds that you receive. You don't incur any fees when sending funds.
