Morning, My DH never new of it for years either, it was a nightmare, but in the end he found out ! It was a relief but we were unsettled for a while. Now I tell him every little thing.
Well done on updating your Sig, although I cant comment as I do not know what GC stands for or the amounts. Fab on the NSD's. I have them when I have no money :rotfl:but on a more serious note, just goes to show, I get by so can NS if I have too, so thats on the list for this month.

Morning. GC stands for grocery challenge. I normally spend nearly (sometimes more) than £600 a month so my target this month is £480.
I haven't put my debt amounts in my signature, let me just say they are more than yours and what you've cleared. Oh the shame!
Off to walk my dogs now and then will knuckle down to the paid stuff.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. Have just started holidays but have tummy ache, so am chaved out at 5.30pm already in my dressing gown, dogs not walked today because of weather. And I had to lay on the bed today to do up my jeans. And I still have to find the energy to cook tea, dye DDs hair and sew her dress ready for wedding at the weekend.
On a positive note, DH has reduced his mobile contract by about £15 per month, today has been a NSD and I do have two weeks of no paid stuff to look forward to.
Bring it on!Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Just read through your diary. Well done on your NSD! I've had one as well.
Nice to have some holiday to spend. Petrol is always less, which is very good!
I'll keep popping in and saying hello.Former Debt free wannabe. Now trying to save for a rainy day!0 -
Hello floella, I agree about the petrol. It's normally about £75 per week for commuting, doubt we'll spend anywhere near that even on days out.
I'm feeling a bit better now, all fed, DDs hair dyed and all adjustments made to dress. About to have a cuppa and catch up on Corrie.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well, weekly shop done and came well over my much hoped for £70 at £97.94. Oops. Except that with just one more weekly shop before the next pay day, I am still on target to come in under £480. Yay.
Arrived home to find that puppy has eaten DS's Edexel certificate which had come in the post. Was trying to think of a way to tell him when DD said she'd already sent him a picture. No response yet, but he is at work. I'm not sure if you can get duplicates but I'll see what he wants to do when he's next home.
Today's plan:
No more spending
Make granola
Make no-cook fudge (thanks to lovely people on these forums, I now have several recipes to try)
Walk dogs (when the rain eventually stops)
With regards to waste this week: none. I sliced the over ripe bananas to freeze and make 'ice cream', did the same with some melon to see if that works too. Also sliced some melon into bite size pieces - the plan being that I snack on these from the fridge rather than naughty things, and I blitzed the stale ends of bread to make breadcrumbs for the freezer.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
How MSE am I?!! Ionafan, I love you!
Got up early to get to shop to buy telegraph for rail offer. Have just 'saved' journeys at a total cost of £24 (once I get the £10 off which can take up to 3 days). Even if I don't get the £10 off, £34 is still way less than the £60 I had budgeted for this.
Anyway, just off to walk the doggies, then a day at the seaside is planned with DH. Won £10 on lottery last night, so will put that towards fish and chips on the beach. Yum.
In the back of my mind, I was kind of intending to go in the gym last night but got engrossed in kindle instead. Must do better, will need to after today.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I still haven't got the £10 off the rail travel in my account so will keep checking. Even if I don't get it the fares are still £20 cheaper overall than what I'd previously been quoted.
Had a great day out yesterday, and used my nectar points to buy a cover for my kindle. I wouldn't even have thought of doing that before scouring this site and starting my diary.
Still focussed.
Today, we are clearing the living room ready for new floor to be fitted tomorrow. I am currently eating breakfast SLOOOOWLYYY and will drink my tea SLOOOOWLLY, and will get dressed SLLOOOOWLY, you get the picture diary. I will stay calm but am not looking forward to the inevitable mayhem.
I will stay calm. I will stay calm. I will stay calm....Spend less now, work less later.0 -

 Well done, Jazee - glad to have been of help. That's a great saving!(once I get the £10 off which can take up to 3 days)
So stop worrying - it will probably be delayed by the Bank Holiday anyway.a day at the seaside is planned with DH.
Hope you had a good day! We went out today to the Wimpole Estate near Cambridge. We got in free with my National Trust membership card, but DH splashed out on lunch for us both, and later we bought some more plants for our garden which we had admired in their walled garden, and he paid for those too. :A
I just bought a nice birthday card for my daughter.0 -
Glad you had a nice day out Ionafan. I just booked my rail tickets, still didn't have the £10 off but booked them anyway as the price was changing slightly. Still saved £19 overall and if I get the e-voucher I can always use that later.
Anyway, I'm back on line after two/three days sorting out living room. Poor DH had to put everything back himself yesterday as I had a migraine that put me to bed all day. All is well with the my world now and the new floor looks great. Got a cream rug though, which I may regret with the dogs.
Spends wise, takeaway yesterday as I wasn't up to cooking when I my head eventually eased, and new phone wire today as we had a little change round and the original was no longer long enough.
The weather is so awful, we don't really fancy going out anywhere. May well have to have our picnic at home like we did as kids, but at least we're not spending.Spend less now, work less later.0
