Friend just got a redemption statement which included a £250 Redemption fee.
There's no tie-in period involved so this is a standard fee, not a penalty.
Although I believe mortgages from 2005 did have this fee specified, is it normal to charge so much and can it be appealed?

Should be in the old paperwork( if they still have it) but the nice people from the ABBEY charged me extra when I finished my mortgage but thanks to Martin I got it back!
Contact the mortgage centre and ask the question
" What was the redemption fee when I took out my mortgage "
