Capital One

Hi Guys,

I have a poor credit rating and got a Capital One credit card to help improve it.

Ive not had the card 5 months, spent on it each month and paid off the total amount each month.

My statement is due in the next couple of days, but my credit limit is still only a tiny £200.

Is there anything else i should be doing?

Nope seems like your on the ball. Capital One reviews the credit limits from time to time and it varies from customer to customer as to how long between increases. Keep doing what your doing and I see no reason why they won't increase it maybe £1000 and see how you go with that. As I said though it does vary and they will decide if and when to increase, there isn't a great deal more you can do.

I too took out a capital one credit card and got the £200 limit. This was in January 2012 and I still have £200 even after the apr went down after 6 months, but I was told by a friend who has a capital one card to apply to have the limit increased

Capital One are quite strict with credit limits. I have had one for 36 months and still only have 200 limit.

Use it just for the green ticks.

wouldn't bother, they will just tell you that they periodically review the credit limits and will notify you if they increase it

I think £200 is more then enough for someone who's got a bad credit history IMHO.
