Car Insurance question

I've bought a new car today and pick it up next week. I will have my existing car until the end of the month at the maximum but am trying to get rid of it sooner. I need to be insured on it until then as well as being insured on the new car.

I've spoken to my insurer who told me they would need to put the new car as my main car and add my old car as an additional car.

They are charging £75 for this which is around a quarter of what I pay for an entire year.

Is there a cheaper way around this?

Thanks
SB

    To be honest thats cheap.

Insurance by the day can be £20 +

Sell the car sooner? Offset the lower selling price by the costs of keeping it tax and insured.
