British Gas poor service
Recently I changed to British Gas Dual Fuel, as part of the deal it was to be credited with Nectar points. I have been repeatedly trying to get these points since April 17th 2012 but to no avail. Having sent 6 emails and 7 phone calls I am no further forward, all that I get is that there is an IT problem, and this will be resolved in due course. However, British Gas continue to advertise this offer on their website although it cannot be fulfilled, I feel sure that this must be against the Trading Standards policy. It should be such a minor matter but it is infuriating not being able to get it resolved.

Posting on this board will not bring you much joy, you would be better off asking on the Utilities board upstairs.

Get mine OK, I take it your nectar card is registered with BG and you can see that on the site. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

There is a problem with some accounts that it is not recognising a customer profile number. On this occasion the customers are told that once the problem is corrected and they receive their Nectar welcome pack to call and all points will be backdated so you will not lose out.
I have maybe only had a problem with this once or twice a month so most are going through fine.
As long as there is a note on your account that you were registering for Nectar and the problem was passed to the Nectar team you just need to have patience as emailing will not speed up the IT problem.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -
I had been trying to link my British Gas and Nectar accounts for over a year until in December I suddenly got a letter warning me that it was my last chance to do so, logged on and finally succeeded! I'd rung customer services on a regular basis to pursue the issue and always been told there were problems with some people's accounts and that they were looking into it but would link the account as soon as they could! I was also promised that my points would not be lost and the Nectar account would be backdated, but so far all that has happened is that I have been given 200 points for my last meter reading in December and nothing else, so am a bit peeved to say the least!0

bugwoman As per my post above call and ask for it to be backdated. If you have any problems raise a complaint to have it escalated but this should not be necessary.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
