I'm just surprised you didn't ask your sisters initially to be bridesmaids!

Dumping your BF now is harsh but does the Chief Bridesmaid really have to organise a hen do, can you do it yourself?

    Have you seen 'Bridesmaids'?!
  • Thanks for all the comments everyone. To answer a few questions:

Both sisters are married. The reason why I didn't ask them initially is that I didn't know if they'd find it weird being their baby sister's bridesmaid, as there is quite a big age gap between me and them, and I didn't want to make them feel uncomfortable. I was still going to ask them to do something in the wedding though, like do a reading or be witnesses - they weren't just going to get left out completely!

I could organise the hen myself but my friend really wants to do it, and I know that she can and will do a sterling job, but I don't want to cause her any unnecessary stress if by some chance the hen do coincides with her having a depressive period. She's also not a great delegator so I don't think I could persuade her to take a step back from it if it did, and again I don't want to come across as thinking she can't do it.

I'm supposed to see her today so I think if the wedding comes up in the course of the conversation I will mention I'm also asking my sisters so if she does want any help with hen do/other bridesmaid stuff she only has to ask. Then when the time comes for the hen do and the wedding I'll probably split the tasks between all the bridesmaids.

Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")
Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")
