£20.12 room rates UK Mecure hotels

  • I have just got back from my stay in Brighton (booked 2x rooms for Wed night)

The hotel is nice but the rooms are very small, the double bed takes up most of the floor space. Bathroom modern & clean but again very cramped, with a shower cubicle and no bath. Rooms were both at side of hotel, so no view.

We were comfortable at night & didn't spend much time in our rooms TBH, but for a longer stay it would have been a bit claustrophobic. Although the lobby/lounge of the hotel is a pleasant place to sit.

Didn't eat at the hotel at all as we went out in Brighton town centre (10-15 min walk along the prom). If the weather is fine, there is a lovely cafe opposite the hotel overlooking the beach that does nice coffees & breakfasts. The Meeting Place - recommended.

Although I was a little disappointed with the room size, this was still an excellent bargain, thanks to the OP.

I,ve already asked that question earlier on this site.Someone suggested Brighton Marina...15 mins away ..free parking for 4 hours.I am going to base camp there and find out nearest free from there..might move out and bus ride back,,as prices are manic in the multi car parks.

What about parking? Does anyone know how much per day? Any free parking nearby?

I looked at the parking charges and they were £15 per day so it actually worked out cheaper to get a train as opposed to paying £45 parking plus petrol and Darford tunnel crossing!

I guess it depends where you are coming from though and how long you are staying - but one way from London was £5 each booked in advance! :T So might be worth looking at trains to cut costs and hassle?

I don't know about marina that is free as I was in brighton a few weeks ago, afaik there isnt anywhere that is free, even if there are they will be all gone by the time you guys get there for the bank hols. Car parks will be jam packed too and rates of £3-£4 an hour is no good. I parked north of the beach by the police station where it is £1 an hour and after 8PM free, just 5 mins walk to the seafront.
  • Just got back from my night at Bowden Hall, room was a good size and the hotel and its staff all very good. Thanks again to the op definitely worthwhile

Enjoyed our stay in Brighton Hotel Thursday night. On arrival parked at Marina[4 hours free parking]and walked 5 mins to uncrowded beach with picnic lunch, though hotel room a bit small didnt matter for 2 people. After unloading case and wife Just drove my car a mile or two down towards Hove, parked it outside permit zone and paid £2 bus ride back to hotel.

We've just come back from 3 night stay - fab room - couldn't believe the size of it for the £20 - although we could hear others grumbling about the size of theirs - so I think we were just lucky! We did ask for a cooler room so was given one with a door that opened onto the terrace at the back (if you can call it that!) upstairs.

Free water, biscuits and toiletries everyday! :T

    Thanks to original poster

Just come back from 2 nts in Wetherby visiting an elderly Aunt.

Room was clean and comfortable but fairly small although we did have 2 chairs as well as the bed, LOL.

We had free tea & coffee but no mineral water but we just bought some from the local Morrisons.

After checking out we went to York for the day before heading home and it was lovely. Not too busy, sunny and plenty to see and do.
