Old cancelled debt card fraud

Hi all
I had a call from my bank first direct this morning saying someone is trying to use my old visa debit card that was cancelled by the bank on the 31st may although it was not due to expire until 11/12
Will I be liable for any transactions after the may date and what should I do now the bank have cancelled all my cards and sending me a new card
Ps the old card was cut up into a lot of small pieces and disposed off in various rubbish bins so no chance that
The card was used

No. You said it yourself, it was cancelled by ther bank. However, it was foolish to dispose of it without cutting it in half. (As they'll know what your signature is like too....).0

Have any transactions been authorised ? It's possible they were declined.

Hi there as stated in my post the card was cut up into a lot small pieces and disposed of in various bins and not in one location eitherdebt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j

As. Far as I am aware from what little the bank said that the transactions. Where from this week and where not authoriseddebt free as of 1/10/2014 and loving it :j

Once you card is cancelled, any transactions are the bank's problem by law.0

Try talking to the fraud department @ first Direct. They don't bite and can give you the reasurance you are looking for.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
